Some common eye conditions are:
- Myopia (Short Sightedness) – Blurred vision distant objects (≥ 6m away)
- Hyperopia (Long Sightedness) – Difficulty focusing particularly on near objects (≤ 1m away)
- Presbyopia – Gradual decrease with age in our ability to focus on near objects e.g. small print
- Astigmatism – Not all parts of a distant object are focussed equally
In the past lenses have given clear vision to the wearer but have not offered a lot in terms of comfort or appearance. Ongoing research and development means Essilor technology provides strong, lightweight, incredibly clear lenses which can be tailor-made to your prescription, lifestyle and frame choice.
There is so much to choose from; our new Crizal anti-reflection lenses are virtually dust-free and scratch resistant; Transitions or prescription sun lenses; even [Anti-Fatigue lenses][9] lenses if you spend a lot of time reading or in front of the computer
The importance of an eye exam
Eye fatigue and headaches can often point to the need for proper visual correction. Most eye diseases (glaucoma, cataracts, etc.) can be more effectively treated if detected early. Only your optometrist or eye doctor is able to complete a comprehensive eye examination.
