Varilux® Physio f-360°™

Introduction

Varilux® Physio™ is an outstandingly successful design, known and trusted by millions of practices and wearers worldwide. Essilor’s exclusive W.A.V.E. Technology™ is a breakthrough in higher order aberration control and provides the benefit of High Resolution Vision™.

Research has shown that the reduction of higher order aberrations (HOA) of the lens are extremely important for the eye. On that point, Varilux Physio shows clinically proven increases in contrast sensitivity. Further research has lead to customisation of the lens, which allowes even better quality of vision.

Technical Features

The new elite design of the Varilux 360° Series, Varilux® Physio f-360°™, now introduces High Resolution Vision™ fitted with wearing parameters:

  2. Vertex Distance
  3. Pantoscopic Angle
  4. Wrap Angle
  5. Fitting Height

Dual Design

Varilux® Physio f-360°™ is built using two sophisticated and perfectly matched optical surfaces. The progressive surface is defined on the front surface of the lens, while the back surface remains virtually flexible to incorporate variations in parameters. The two surfaces are optimised through wavefront technology.

A new optical function every time

Varilux Physio f-360° combines on its back surface both prescription and fitting parameters. Highly sophisticated calculations take them into account to define the position of the Near Vision area specifically for each wearer. The final lens never has the same optical function; it incorporates the function that is the best for a given patient.

Dual Positioning System™

Thanks to the combination of both front and back surfaces, Varilux® Physio f-360°™ can adapt the position of the Near Vision area to the wearing conditions. The point by point lens calculation allows control of the parameters defined on the front surface, such as progression length and inset value, and integrates variable parameters on the back surface.This sophisticated calculation creates an interaction between both front and back surfaces and leads to the "spatial flexibility" of the Near Vision area.
