Nikon Seewide

A soft progressive design on the front surface

Nikon Seewide's progressive design builds on the key features of all Nikon progressive lenses:

  • Flat aspheric surface that reduces oblique astigmatism and power error.
  • Near vision field extended laterally and near vision power stabilised.
  • Flat iso-spheres in near and far vision, resulting in stabilised horizontal power that ensures merging of RE /LE images in dynamic vision.
  • Products available: Seewide 14 (general use) and Seewide 12 (for small frames).

An Aberration Filter on the back surface

Aberration Filter Diagram Nikon Seewide's back surface aspheric design is created by 'Digital Surfacing' with a high degree of precision. All Nikon Seewide lenses are custom-made to each prescription and calculated point by point. The Nikon Aberration Filter on the back surface compensates for aberrations by applying the opposite astigmatism pattern to the one generated by the front surface progressive design.

Aberrations generated by the progressive front surface + Exclusive Nikon Aberration Filter = Aberrations corrected by the Aberration Filter
