Rather than a simple algorithm, the patented calculations for a 360° lens "map" the front surface creating an optimal prescription surface for every Rx. None of this is possible without specific digital production machinery for both surfacing and polishing. The Essilor Technology Centre is one of only 5 production facilities world wide with a superior set up like this. Over the last years, Essilor has invested heavily into providing digital surfacing to the local market.
